One moment can change everything!

That look on my face is sheer terror

11 weeks ago I had reconstructive shoulder surgery. I’ve had a recurring dislocated shoulder for the past 10 years.

Before surgery, I had dislocated my shoulder 15 times.

I went to the hospital twice before I learned to put it back in myself. (Thanks YouTube!)

After the surgery, I was in a sling for 6 weeks with zero movement.

My shoulder has been stiff from lack of movement and the shoulder rehab has been slow.

A couple of days ago I got this great idea… let’s get a few pictures of me in front of some street art!

It started with me staring into space for a picture… Then it moved to weird action shots that didn’t work… So the last picture is what it is…

BUT…

My reaction to the kick was that my right arm went straight up into the air… and that is where this moment turned scary. I heard and felt a *POP* in my right shoulder… when I landed, I grabbed my shoulder and braced for pain.

In that split second, I regretted every decision leading up to that moment in the picture.

I started to stand up, holding my shoulder, realizing the potential damage I did.

I started to move expecting the worst…

🌟Insert magical moment here🌟 there was no pain…

The stiffness was gone and my range of motion was almost back to normal!

I still don’t have the strength in that arm BUT that split second of terror, has turned into the best rehab I have done to date!

January and February were tough months for us. Kade went in for Surgery on the 17th and healed up within a week.

I had surgery exactly one week later on the 24th with an expected recovery of 24-36 weeks.

We are so grateful as a family for all the support we have received in the last 12 weeks from everyone.

When they say it takes a village to raise a family, I am glad I have my village to lean on!
